GenX Mobile Introduces Full Support for
Garmin FMI Version 2.0
San Jose, California, May 20, 2009 – GenX Mobile, Inc.
introduced today full support for Garmin FMI version 2.0. Garmin
FMI Version 2.0 is supported by GenX Mobile’s GNX-10 Global Location
Unit. Garmin FMI Version 2.0 enables real-time navigation, two-way
messaging and job dispatch capabilities to improve mobile asset
visibility and efficiency.
The GenX Mobile implementation of Garmin FMI Version 2.0 includes
store and forward capability. Store and forward capability is
essential to ensure delivery of messages and data when the Garmin
device is disconnected, powered off or removed from the mobile asset
or when wireless communication is unavailable.
Garmin FMI version 2.0 incorporates a number of features including
two-way text messaging to facilitate near real-time communication
between a dispatcher and mobile asset; a list of jobs and stops;
time of arrival to the next job; auto notification of arrival at the
next job or point of interest; user login before start of day to
associate a person with a specific mobile asset and many other
features to improve field efficiency and visibility.
